$399,900

Bring the center console - this nicely renovated Avalon Beach cottage was built for the boat life, with the Bay Drive boat ramp and its parking lot due west of the front door and the East 5th Street light putting you straight onto the beach access beside Avalon Pier - and shopping, restaurants and entertainment are all just minutes away. In 2016 the home was lifted and taken down to the studs, then rebuilt with all-new electrical, plumbing and windows, new luxury vinyl plank floors throughout, an updated kitchen (with a glimpse of the ocean from the kitchen sink), a tiled tub/shower, and a 3-bedroom septic system. Upstairs: two bedrooms, a full bath and a back room that's perfect for a home office or craft room, all on one level, with a covered front deck for the after-beach hour. Downstairs is where it earns its keep - the lift gives the fully covered north carport (30'6" x 8'6") a full 10-foot clearance for the boat, plus an 8' x 24'6" storage room/workshop with room for every rod, reel and board (and the brand-new water heater), and an outdoor shower. With the 3-bedroom septic already in, enclosing the ground level for an additional bedroom and living space is that much easier (buyer to verify permitting with the Town of Kill Devil Hills). All-electric with window/wall AC conveying. Located in the sought-after X flood zone. Optional Avalon Beach Improvement Association membership ($30/yr - not an HOA) adds an oceanfront parking permit beside Avalon Pier and the community sound lot at the end of West Avalon Drive.
